ASH feedback/research update

The annual American Society of Haematology Meetings was held in Atlanta 2005 during the second week of December and MPDs were the definite highlight of the meeting - we were on the front cover of the educational book. Much attention was focused on the JAK2 mutation its implications for diagnosis, disease classification and potential therapies.

There was also exciting provisional data suggesting that Revlimid (an anologie of thalidomide) might be useful in the treament of Myelofibrosis.


The highlight of the ASH (American Society of Haematology) meeting in 2004 was the PT1 trial (see Scientific papers). Exciting data was also presented about the treatment of myelofibrosis.
